POWERFUL!
Melbourne Ride To Conquer Cancer. Albert Park to Healsville to Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. 27.10.2012 – 28.10.2012
Right from the outset, I just want to thank you all so much for your generous and caring support. Without your backing, Team Jae would never have been able to achieve such a significant result.
Also, I really want to thank Mark and Justine for including me and allowing me to be apart of such a personal and meaningful event in their lives. They are both inspirational and incredibly strong, pretty much the qualities that embodied the whole event. Cancer is indiscriminate and at some point in our lives, we will know of someone who has been affected. There were so many stories from all participants, either cancer survivors themselves, or those riding for family and friends, or those just riding to make a effort and actually make a difference.
For the record, I personally raised $4,920.00, Team Jae (Mark, Todd, Justin and Rob) raised $29,740.00 and the event raised a staggering Australian record of $6.2 Million!
Critical funds have been raised to fund breakthrough cancer research, treatments and care in our community, and around the world. We all have made an enduring impact on the commitment to conquer cancer.
It was truly an emotional and grounding weekend, and I will always cherish these memories from this epic journey. Thank you for being a part of this awesome life-changing adventure.
Below are pictures of Team Jae and the ride as well as a video produced by Scody, which captured the whole two days perfectly ... it's definitely worth watching. Finally, there is some information about The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and a link through to their site so you can see first hand what your immense support is achieving.
God bless and thank you.
Kosta.

The below video was produced for Scody as part of the support shown for all of the fantastically devoted people participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for Peter Mac. It seems most of the riders have been touched by cancer in some way - via their work, their family & friends, or by having battled it themselves.
The two day ride was packed with emotion as this 1600 strong team of riders took to the road for an epic journey. Many of them never having ridden this sort of distance before, they embarked on a 100k trek from Melbourne to Healesville, to bed down in tents for the night, before returning the next day for a total of 200 kilometres!
With many riders flying yellow flags as a sign of being a cancer survivor, the hills were awash with yellow - and while it was not the yellow of the likes of the tour de France, they did raise the budget enough for a pretty good pro cycling team! 6.2 million dollars! All dedicated to the fight to Conquer Cancer! With thanks to Scody, I hope you enjoy some of the journey with them!
